And we have a snowball. medium_100_2963.JPG
Well a yarn snow ball.

I also have the body for Pasedena almost complete. I just need to add the button bands and the neck…..and then on to the sleeves.

I really wanted to finish before Christmas because the cranberry color is so festive. But I think my patience has helped in limiting the mistakes. :) Well I am going to get back to helping Peanut track Santa. She is very excited. Have a wonderful Christmas and Happy Holidays. :)

Yes I am....

You Are a Snowflake

You live for the winter - blizzards, cold nights, snowball fights! The holidays are just a bonus!

Giant Snowflake

Since we don't have any snow we thought we would make our own snowflakes. This one turned out huge so we are going to make some smaller ones. You can find out how to make them here.

Tree time....

Tis' the season. Huh? I haven't really felt in that merry mood lately. Coming down from all that stress just made me tired. And now it's shopping time...or actually deciding to or not. I think I choose to not. I hate venturing out to the store and fighting for parking and blah blah blah and all that. So online shopping it is this year. We’ll miss seeing all the holiday decorating at the stores but that’s ok because I think we have enough decorations to look at home. We decorated our tree last week.

Peanut helped a little but mostly just pulled stuff out of the boxes and took stuff off the tree. So our tree is a little bare because we kept the breakables boxed up. We have also put real candy canes on the tree and she has been sneaking away with those every chance she gets. I have been knitting and planning to knit tons. But I also have been in a blah-I don’t want to do anything mood from time to time so I haven’t made as much progress on some knits as I would like to. I can say that my reworking of the Pasadena pattern is turning out to be a success. :) I love being able to try on sweaters and seeing how the fit is.

There have been a few tricky parts and some parts that I just decided to leave out but overall its coming along so much faster then if I had knit it pieces from the bottom up. And the only seaming to be done will be the sleeves. I love that. :)

The other sweater that I was working on was the cast away sweater from Loop-d-loop. I altered the pattern so that it was knit from the shoulders down and it was coming along nicely until I realized that I was running out of yarn. :( I have been trying to get rid of my yarn stash so instead of buying more yarn for patterns I am trying to just use up what I have. So cast away went away. I love that yarn though so I am thinking maybe a cropped cardi or something. I also have a few requests that were thrown at me this weekend. My mother came to visit and wants a sunrise jacket and some socks. I think I can manage those requests and I don’t mind because I know she’ll treasure the items. She’s about the only person besides Peanut I would knit for. She was also kind of hinting that they would be perfect gifts for her on Christmas but I managed to alter that idea. There’s just not enough time.
